GCAA awards for Shaw and Shuman
NORMAN, Okla. – Juniors Jonathan Shaw (CMC) and Matt Shuman (CMC) earned All-West Region honors from the Golf Coaches Association of American, as released on May 16. Additionally, Shaw was honored as a Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar.
Both Shaw and Shuman earned All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors and helped lead the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team to the program's 12th SCIAC title. Shaw was the individual winner at the SCIAC Championships. The team is now competing at the NCAA National Championships in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Follow the Stags live via Golfstat.com.
Shaw continued the tradition of All-America Scholars in the Stags' program. Only 44 players across the country made the list; juniors and seniors who have lower than a 79.0 stroke average are eligible for the award.
