Multiple award winners from GCAA for Stags

NORMAN, Okla. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the All-Region, All-America and All-America Scholar teams with members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps team on each. Freshman Alex Wrenn (CMC) was named a Division III PING First-Team All-American and joined sophomore Jonathan Shaw (CMC) on the West's All-Region Team. Additionally, senior Kethan Reddy (CMC) continued the history of All-America Scholars in the CMS program to cap off his career.

After a tie for first place during regulation at the NCAA Championships, Wrenn came in second overall after coming up just short on the playoff hole to decide the individual champion. He ended the year with a 73.38 average score per round and birdied 68 holes during the season. Wrenn was one of recipients of this award and this is his first All-American honor.

Both Wrenn and Shaw represented the Stags on the All-Region team in the West. CMS was the only SCIAC program to have more than one player named All-Region. Shaw wrapped up his season with a 74.24 average over 25 rounds played. He placed 21st in the NCAA Championships with all four rounds under 80 in the difficult conditions.

Reddy was one of 34 players across the country named as a Cleveland golf/Srixon All-America Scholar. Only juniors and seniors who have lower than a 79.0 stroke average are eligible for the award. Reddy led the field at the NCAA Championships for two rounds and ultimately finished just six strokes off the leader for 12th place overall.
