Stags Tied For Fifth After Day Two At NCAA Championships

Tain Lee shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Stags in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championships.  After 36 holes the Stags are tied for fifth with a score of 596.  Playing on the more difficult El Campeon course on Wednesday, CMS shot 307 (+19) and stayed in the top 10 throughout the round.  Brad Shigezawa, the co-leader after round one, shot 74 on Wednesday followed by Aron Larson (81), Jordan Stein (82) and Phillip North (84).

The 41-team field was cut to 15 after today's round and CMS was one of three SCIAC schools above the line (602).  Redlands is one of four teams tied with CMS at 596 and La Verne is 13th at 601.  In the individual standings, CMS is one of two schools with two players at even par or better.  Shigezawa is tied for second at 142 (-2) while Lee is tied for sixth at 144 (E).
