ORANGE, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team opened SCIAC play on the road against Chapman but ultimately fell 82-66 on Saturday afternoon at Harold Hutton Sports Center.
With the loss, CMS slips to 2-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play, while Chapman improved to 4-2 and 1-1 in the SCIAC with the win.
McKelary Robertson led the Panthers with a game-high 23 points, Blakeley Stoughton had 19 and Jake Heberle had 17 as Chapman converted 18 three-pointers on the day.
The Stags were led by Caelan Jones and Rhett Carter who both finished with 15 points apiece. Josh Angle added 14 points and two steals for CMS.
CMS will look to bounce back as they host Cal Lutheran on Thursday evening. Tip-off from Roberts Pavilion is at 7 p.m.
