Dannaway Earns Academic All-American Honors

Steve Dannaway (SR, Honolulu, HI) was voted to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America baseball teams which was released today.  He is a member of the Third Team of the College Division.  He is one of only two players from District VIII to make the All-America team and is the only Hawaiian on any of the six All-America teams (including the University and College teams).

Dannaway graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a major in Physics and was named First Team All-SCIAC in 2009 and 2010.  He led the Stags this season in batting average (.450), RBI (51) and hits (68).

Nominees must have better than a 3.30 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore. The award is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and is presented by ESPN The Magazine.
