Mark Sui - Men's Basketball

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior guard Mark Sui had the two highest-scoring games of his career to help the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team split a pair of games on the week, averaging 16 points on 61.9 percent shooting from the floor.

Sui, who has started every game this season after playing as a reserve his first three years, doubled his previous career high when he had 18 points on 7-10 shooting in a 73-65 defeat to Pomona-Pitzer, including 12 points in the second half as he kept the Stags in striking distance before they came up short.

It marked Sui's first career game in double figures in scoring (his previous high was nine last year) and he quickly added another one by scoring 14 points on 6-11 shooting in a 73-58 win over UC Santa Cruz. Sui again had a big second half, with 11 points on 5-7 shooting to go along with four assists after halftime, as he helped CMS come back from a 35-21 halftime deficit. At one point, Sui had a personal 7-0 run over a span of 1:06 to turn a 40-39 deficit into a 46-40 lead, which the Stags would never relinquish.

Sui and CMS will be back in action at home twice this week for non-league games, battling California Mirimar on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. before hosting Westmont on Saturday at 5:30 in their final game before the holiday break.
