Marco Conati - Men's Swimming and Diving

Marco Conati helped the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s swimming and diving team to a perfect 2-0 record last week. The Stags defeated Whitman 216-46 before topping Cal Lutheran 155-72 over the weekend. Conati was a large part of both victories, winning three individual events and four relays on the week. He won the 100 Back, 100 Free, and 100 Fly while being a part of all four relay victories for CMS.

Conati won the 100 Back (52.10) and 100 Free (46.77) against Whitman and then won the 100 Fly against Cal Lutheran in a time of 51.48. Conati was also part of all four relay victories on the week winning the 200 Free Relay and 200 Medley Relay twice.

Against Whitman the 200 Free Relay team of Conati, Grant Murray, Dave Makhervaks, and Daniel Hayon took the top spot in the event with a time of 1:36.27. Conati then teamed up with Makhervaks, Patricio Madero, and Hayon to claim the 200 Free Relay in a time of 1:27.01.

On Saturday against Cal Lutheran, Conati and company were at it again winning the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Makhervaks, Sam Willett, Conati, and Andreas Roeseler in a time of 1:35.16. CMS wrapped up the day with a victory in the 200 Free Relay with the team of Conati, Madero, Hayon, and Makhervaks claiming the top spot in 1:27.42.

Conati and the Stags are back in action on Saturday when they host Occidental and Caltech on Senior Day. Diving starts at 10:00 a.m. with swimming following at 11:00 a.m. in Axelrood Pool.
