Shelbi Stein - Women's Volleyball

Over the weekend, Shelbi Stein was named the Most Valuable Player of the SCIAC Tournament. Stein collected 19 kills and amassed a .381 hitting percentage in the Athenas’ two matches en route to the 2017 SCIAC Tournament Championship.

In the semifinals, CMS cruised past Chapman in a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-11) sweep of the Panthers. In that match Stein was one of six Athenas to finish with at least five kills, notching seven and a .375 hitting percentage.

In the SCIAC Tournament Finals, Stein got better finishing the match with 12 kills and a .385 hitting percentage to help CMS to their second Tournament Title in program history. CMS made quick work of Cal Lutheran in that match, sweeping the Regals 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-16).

Stein and the Athenas turn their sights on the NCAA Tournament which begins on Friday. CMS squares off with UT-Dallas in the Georgetown, Texas Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
