Maya Love - Women's Basketball

Maya Love wins her second-consecutive CMS Student-Athlete of the Week award after averaging a double-double in a pair of Athenas’ victories last week. The sophomore helped the Athenas claim a 54-53 victory over Middlebury and a 56-49 win over Webster last week. The victories pushed CMS’ winning streak to six games (last night they extended that streak to seven games with a 20-point win at La Verne).

Love was a huge part of both victories last week. On the week, Love registered a double-double in both games, netting 12 points and 12 rebounds against Middlebury, while scoring 16 points and 13 boards against Webster. The sophomore guard from Denver, Colo. also shot 52.2% from the field, notched three assists, blocked two shots and recorded five steals during the two games.

In addition to earning her second CMS Student-Athlete of the Week honor, Love has earned back-to-back SCIAC Athlete of the Week accolades. On the season, she is averaging 12.8 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Love is the only player in the conference averaging a double-double per game.

The Athenas put their seven-game winning streak on the line Friday night when they host UC Santa Cruz at 5:00 p.m. in Roberts Pavilion.
