CLAREMONT, Calif. – After leading the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team to a remarkable comeback victory over Washington and Lee, Trey Reynolds has been named CMS and SCIAC Athlete of the Week (Sept. 19). With the team trailing 21-0 in the second quarter with 11 minutes left in the second quarter, Reynolds shook off the rust and chipped away the lead with several scoring drives. The CMS defense held Washington and Lee scoreless for more than 21 minutes until the end of the game, providing Reynolds the opportunity to guide the team through a 21-point run in the final 17 minutes.

Reynolds finished the game with 283 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. The senior had 25 completions and managed 14 passing first downs. After Saturday’s performance, Reynolds broke the school record for career passing yards set by Steve Olson (4701 yards; 1983-85) with 4871 yards.
