Vaiva Palunas – Women’s Track & Field
(2/23 – 3/1) – Sophomore Vaiva Palunas (SCR) from Seattle, Wash. broke the 22-year old CMS women's discus record with a mark of 43.42m (142-5) on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Rossi Relays hosted by CMS. The previous record of 43.36m (142- 3) was set by Jennifer Stengel in 1993. She also competed in the shot put finishing in third in the field and 7th in the hammer throw. Track & field athletes from CMS broke four program records during the meet on Saturday.
