Bio

The Stags’ record improved in each of Zitar's four seasons and during his senior year, CMS won the SCIAC championship for the first time since 1991. The Stags also set a program record for the longest winning streak at home, winning 18 in a row (SCIAC and non-conference) over two seasons. The 1995-96 season also saw the Stags win the first NCAA Tournament game in program history. He was selected as first-team All-SCIAC three times and was a second team All-American, first-team All-District and SCIAC Player of the Year as a senior to go along with second-team All-District honors as a junior. A two-time Team MVP who made six All-Tournament teams, Zitar was selected as the CMC Athlete of the Year, Ducey Award winner and team captain during his senior season. In 98 games played, Zitar scored 1,597 points (16.3 points per game) and finished third on CMS’ all-time scoring list.
