Swim & Dive (Athenas) season recap

The Athenas put together an 8-0 record this season in conference dual meets, and won the SCIAC Championships for the 18th time in program history. Six Athenas qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2017 and combined to lead the team to a 21st-place finish. Claire Bacon-Brenes (SCR ’20), Jocelyn Crawford (CMC ’20), and Elizabeth Carrade (CMC ’18) made their first career appearances at Nationals. They were joined by returnees Stephanie Doi (CMC ’17) and Maia Presti (SCR ’18), who made their second career appearances, and Kelly Ngo (CMC ’18), who made her fourth appearance. Ngo garnered four honorable mention All-America finishes (one individual event and three relays) at nationals: 100-yard backstroke (14th), 400 medley relay (11th), 200 medley relay (11th), 800 freestyle relay (16th).
