An action-packed several months ahead for winter and spring sports

Winter sports are in the midst of conference play and postseason competition looms on the horizon. The swimming & diving teams are both off to 5-0 starts in SCIAC dual meets. The women’s basketball team is 10-6 overall and sits in first in the conference standings at 6-1. The Athenas are after their fourth conference championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in a row. The men’s basketball team is after a conference championship and an NCAA berth as well. The Stags are ranked No. 21 in Division III and are in first place in the SCIAC standings at 11-1 overall, 4-0 in conference play. Visit the CMS Athletics website for a full calendar of events.

If you love seeing CMS teams in action, then we have you covered during the winter and spring months, February in particular. During the four-plus weeks of February, 14 of CMS’ 21 teams are in action, with the winter sports (basketball and swimming & diving) and spring sports (baseball, golf, tennis, track & field, women’s lacrosse, softball and women’s water polo) seasons overlapping. Spring sports begin practice in mid-to late January, and then by late February, all of the spring teams will have had its first competition of the regular season.
