Goalkeeper Kelly McConnell (HMC ’17) made five saves in the match to earn CMS second place in the conference and set up a home semifinal match against Cal Lutheran at 7 p.m. Nov. 5. The Athenas have gone 0-1-1 against the Regals this season but finished the regular season with a 7-4-3 SCIAC record and are 8-3-1 at Pritzlaff Field this season.

Volleyball
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team finished the regular season with three-straight wins and will carry an eight-match winning streak into the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Victories over Occidental, Chapman and Redlands gave the Athenas a share of the regular season conference title in the SCIAC and the No. 2 seed in the tournament. CMS will play No. 3 seed La Verne in the semifinal match on Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. in Thousand Oaks at the host campus of first-place Cal Lutheran.
