Bio

Jake Ayers has been with CMS Athletics since 2017, beginning his tenure as the assistant director of events and operations for Roberts Pavilion, and currently serving as the Director of Facilities and Sport Operations. In his current position, he manages game-day operations for varsity athletic events as well as scheduling, care and maintenance of all athletic facilities, including managing off-campus rentals, camps and conferences. He also spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the CMS Baseball team before shifting into a full-time administrative role. 

Ayers is a 2006 graduate of Knox College where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball and football.  On the baseball field, Ayers was a four-year starting catcher and two-time unanimous all-Midwest Conference selection.  On the football field, Ayers led the Prairie Fire at quarterback throughout his collegiate career.

In 2004, Ayers began his coaching career at the age of 19, when he took over the Farmington (IL) American Legion Post 140 baseball programs.  Ayers was elected a member of Post 140’s Hall of Fame in 2005, and is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
