Abraham Earns Academic All-District

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Fresh off her National Title in the 100 meter dash, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field's Tyra Abraham (SC) was named to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women's Track/Cross Country Team by CoSIDA. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

On the Track

A two-time National Champion in the 100 meter dash, Abraham helped CMS to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 NCAA DIII Track and Field National Championships. The fastest woman in CMS history, Abraham won the 100 meter dash National Title this year with a time of 11.87. She holds the record for the fastest 100 meter dash in program history (11.65) as well as the 200 meter dash record (24.36).

In the Classroom

In the classroom, Abraham completed her four years at Scripps College this spring, finishing her senior year with a GPA of 3.69 while majoring in Anthropology/Media Studies.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.
