Bio

Nyssa Peele has completed two years as an assistant coach with the CMS women's tennis program following the 2018-19 season, and she has helped the Athenas to their first two apperances in the national championship match, including an NCAA Division III title in 2018 and a runner-up finish in 2019. 

Peele came to CMS after a year as an assistant coach for the Trinity (TX) Tigers. In her year with the Tigers, Trinity won the SCAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament as a team. Trinity also had an individual reach the round of 16 with Peele on the bench.

Prior to Trinity, Peele was the coach of the Academy team at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. She also served as Director of Women’s Tennis at the University of Texas Tennis Club in 2012 and 2013. Before that, Peele was an Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, in 2010 and 2011. She had many responsibilities at the NCAA Division I program, including the conducting of drills and practices. Peele also instilled the concept of mental toughness and taught defensive and offensive tactics to the players.

Peele was a varsity tennis player at Texas State from 2008-2011. During her senior year, Peele amassed a 16-1 singles record, earning All-Southland Conference First Team accolades in 2010. An outstanding student, Peele received Capital One Southland Conference All-Academic honors in 2009 and 2010.

Peele earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history with a minor in business administration from Texas State in 2011. She also was an art history teaching assistant in 2010 and 2011. Peele later was the registrar and fine arts consultant at Altamira Fine Art in Jackson, Wyoming.

In 2012, Peele was the recipient of a Master of Letters degree from the University of Glasgow Christie’s Education in London. The program is affiliated with Christie’s International, the world-famous auction house.
