CMS Women's Tennis Takes Two More Wins, Defeats Redlands, Gustavus Adolphus

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team went on the road in the morning to pick up an 8-1 SCIAC win at Redlands, and then came back home to make it a 2-0 day with a 9-0 win over Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday.

With the wins, second-ranked CMS improves to 14-1 on the year, while extending its win streak to 10 straight matches. 

Against Gustavus, CMS won all three doubles matches 8-1, and then dropped only 13 games combined in singles on its way to a shutout win. 

Lindsay Eisenman earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles for the most dominant of the six wins, while Katherine Wurster (6-2, 6-0) at No. 1, Sena Selby (6-0, 6-2) at No. 2, and Olivia Almy (6-0, 6-2) at No. 6 each only dropped two games. 

Nikolina Batoshvili picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3, and Arushi Malik earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5. 

Almy and Audrey Yoon teamed for an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubnles, while Batoshvili and Selby won at No. 2 and Eisenman and Ella Brissett won at No. 3. 

CMS will next be in action on Friday when it hosts Whittier at 3 p.m.
