Women's Tennis Cruises to Eighth-Straight SCIAC Tournament Championship

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's tennis team won their eighth-straight SCIAC Tournament Title on Saturday after taking down the No. 7 Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens 5-0. The Athenas swept through doubles play and needed just two singles wins to clinch the match.

In #2 doubles, Catherine Allen (SC) and Caroline Cox (CMC) won their contest 8-4, as did Kyla Scott (HMC) and Juliette Martin (HMC) in #3 doubles. Lindsey Brown (CMC) and Nicole Tan (CMC) teamed up for an 8-5 win in #1 doubles.

Tan earned the first singles point for the Athenas in the #1 match, sweeping her opponent in straight sets (6-3, 6-1). Rebecca Berger (CMC) clinched the match for CMS in the #5 spot, winning her battle 6-3, 6-1.
