CMS Women's Swimming and Diving Celebrates Senior Day with Dominant Win over Redlands

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day with a dominant 168-34 win over Redlands in its final home meet of the 2021-22 season on Saturday at Axelrood Pool.

Tenth-ranked CMS won every individual event in taking the win, and now stands at 4-3 overall on the season, including 4-1 in the SCIAC and two dual defeats to Division I programs (UC San Diego, California Baptist). The meet also concluded with an all-senior team of Ava Sealander, Augusta Lewis, Leila El Masri and Natalia Orbach-Mandel winning the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Ella Blake picked up wins in the 1650 and the 100-yard freestyle, while Kelly Prawira took first in the 500 free and the 200-yard breaststroke, and Emma Ng Pack won both diving events. Augusta Lewis swam her final home individual medley at Axelrood Pool and won by 20 seconds in the 400 IM in 4:28.18. 

Adding individual wins for CMS were Jameson Mitchum in the 200-yard freestyle, Emily Warner in the 200-yard butterfly, Katelyn Dang in the 50 free and Anna Werts in the 200-yard backstroke. El Masri had two second-place finishes for the Athenas, while Alex Towers, Sammy Ennis, Keeley LaRiviere, Annie Johnson and Rachel Wander each had a runner-up as well.

Sealander, Lewis, El Masri, Orbach-Mandel, Wander and Natalie Larsen were each honored before the meet as part of their senior day. 

CMS will be back in action on Jan. 29 at La Verne for a tri-meet with Cal Lutheran and the host Leopards, before closing out the regular season at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Feb. 5.
