CMS Swimming and Diving Programs Both Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Distinction

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's and women's swimming and diving teams both received Scholar All-America Team honors from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, the organization announced this week.

The Athenas and Stags both easily surpassed the minimum standard of a 3.0 team GPA during the spring semester. The Athenas earned an impressive 3.56 team GPA during the spring, while the Stags accumulated a strong 3.38 team grade point average as well.

The success of the CMS swimming and diving program this spring spread into both the pool and the classroom, as each team also was nationally ranked in the top 15 this season. The Athenas, who sent 11 swimmers to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships, were ranked No. 11 in the final TYR/CSCAA Division III poll released on March 6 (prior to the NCAA Championships). The Stags, meanwhile, who had junior diver Kendall Hollimon and sophomore Marco Conati (100 fly) earn All-America honors with top five finishes at nationals, were No. 14 in the final TYR poll.
