Swimming & Diving SCIAC Championships Preview

The quest for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swimming & diving program's 51st and 52nd conference championships begin on Feb.19, as the four-day SCIAC Championships get underway at Whittier College's Lillian Slade Aquatics Center and run from Feb. 19-22. The CMS men's team has won 34 SCIAC Championships overall including seven in a row, while the women's team has won 16 overall and 12 in a row.

"This is a pretty experienced group and that's something we are going to rely on at the SCIAC Championships," said head coach Charlie Griffiths. "Our senior class has been through a lot of battles both at the conference and national levels. They have shown the ability to step up when it's time to step up, so I am excited to see them lead the team this weekend."

"We're prepared for a competitive weekend at the SCIAC Championships on both the men's and women's sides," said Griffiths. "We were able to win all of our dual meets in SCIAC, but we know that the conference meet scoring setup values different abilities compared to the dual meets, so we think that the overall team competitions are going to be pretty exciting."
