Emma Fogg Captures SCIAC Defensive Player of the Week Accolades

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Sophomore center back Emma Fogg earned the SCIAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor for games through Sunday, Oct. 2, the league office announced today.

Fogg anchored a defense that held all three of its opponents scoreless as it picked up 2-0 league wins over Whittier and Caltech and a 0-0 tie with UC Santa Cruz. She did most of her heavy lifting in the two league games, helping to hold the Poets and Beavers to a combined two shots on goal, which came on a 35-yarder and a slow roller, as CMS moved into third place in the SCIAC standings with six big points.

Both of the CMS starting center backs have now won the award, after Annie McKinley captured it following 1-0 wins over both MIT and Williams, including scoring the game-winning goal against No. 6 MIT.

CMS will be back in action for two big road games this week, facing Cal Lutheran on Wednesday and then crossing the street to face Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
