Cate Lewison Takes Second SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Award of Season

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Cate Lewison of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team was named the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for games through Sunday, March 24, the conference office announced today.

Lewison had a key role in helping CMS take over sole possession of second place in the SCIAC with a 20-12 win over Chapman. Lewison led CMS with six points on four goals and two assists, while also adding six draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers.

CMS was locked in an 8-8 tie with Chapman early in the second half, before Lewison put the Athenas ahead to stay, starting an 8-0 run with a goal. She also added another goal in the spurt to make it 13-8, while contributing two caused turnovers during the run as well.

Lewison won the award two weeks ago, the last time CMS was in action, after tallying seven goals combined in a 2-0 week with wins over RPI and Occidental.

CMS will be back in action this evening when it takes on No. 13 Williams in a key non-conference game at Zinda Field.
