A tremendous group of five Athenas and Stags are being inducted into the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Alumni Association Athletics Hall of Fame this year. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Claremont McKenna College’s Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum.

Five Athenas named to IWLCA All-West Region Teams

Five players from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse program were named to the All-West Region First and Second Teams, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association on May 12. Senior midfielder Cara Cancelmo (CMC) and junior midfielder Evan Murphy (CMC) earned First Team honors while junior attacker Lauren Clubb (CMC), freshman attacker Emily Cohen (CMC), and junior defender Katie Hill (CMC) were named to the Second Team.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team fell to regional rival, Colorado College, in the Second Round of the NCAA Championships with the score of 15-12. The game was tight throughout the first half, but then when the Tigers scored three in a row to start off the second half, the Athenas’ late rally was not enough to pull out the tournament victory.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team will host Colorado College at South Athletics Complex on Sunday, May 14 at 1 p.m. for the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

After sweeping through the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse program (16-1) earned a Pool B berth to the NCAA Tournament. The Athenas will get a bye and then host Colorado College (14-4) in a Second Round game on May 14.

Saturday night turned out nothing short of spectacular for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s lacrosse team as the Athenas (16-1, 10-0) completed a dominant run in the SCIAC regular season and tournament undefeated after an 18-9 win over Chapman University (11-7, 7-3).
