2016 season starts for women’s lacrosse at Pomona-Pitzer

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The 2016 regular season for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's lacrosse team gets underway on Feb. 24, with an important conference match right away, at Pomona-Pitzer. Match time is set for 7 p.m. CMS went 1-1 last season against Pomona-Pitzer which included an 8-7 overtime win at Pomona-Pitzer. Live stats and video for tonight's match at Pomona-Pitzer are available.

CMS' first home match is on March 2 against Whittier at 7 p.m. on Zinda Field. Live stats and video for the Whittier match and many other home matches are available all season long.

The Athenas finished 2015 at 8-7 overall, 5-6 in SCIAC matches.

CMS returns its top-8 scorers (statistically) from last season's 8-7 team. Sophomore M Ellen Berkley (CMC), senior A Christina Coffin (CMC) and sophomore M Mikaela Connell (CMC) each tied for the team-high in goals last season (21). Sophomore M/A Lauren Clubb (CMC) handed out a team-high 17 assists to go along with 20 scores and junior M Cara Cancelmo (CMC) came away after last season as the team-leader in ground balls recovered (33).
