Esther Lee Earns SCIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Esther Lee of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps earned the SCIAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Feb. 18, the conference office announced today.
Lee earned individual medalist honors with an even-par finish at the Leopard Spring Invitational hosted by La Verne at the Dos Lagos Golf Club in Corona on Monday and Tuesday. Lee's two-day 140 included a 66 in the opening round on Monday, which is the lowest single-round score in program history.
Lee's -4 was also one shot behind the best score relative to par (67 on a par-72), which she has accomplished twice, including once at the SCIAC Championships last year, while current teammates Stella Cheng and Reina Tain also shot -5 once a year ago.
CMS will be back in action this weekend when it competes in SCIAC No. 1 at Costa Mesa Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
