
CMS Women's Golf Comes in Fourth at First SCIAC Regular Season Tournament

LONG BEACH, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team finished in fourth place at the first SCIAC regular season tournament, which was held on Saturday and Sunday at the El Dorado Golf Course.
CMS came into Sunday's second round in fourth place, just nine shots back, but Redlands, the second-ranked team in Division III, was able to shoot a 307 pull away from the field for an 11-shot win over Cal Lutheran, which finished second. Pomona-Pitzer was third, while the Athenas settled for fourth after both programs shot 319 on the second day.
Esther Lee shot a 74, which was one shot away from being the low round of the day, as Jessica Mason of Pomona-Pitzer and Claire Cornejo of Cal Lutheran each shot 73 to finish 1-2 on the individual leaderboard. Lee's round included an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole.
Jeissy Lee shot a 77 on the second day to surge up seven spots and earn a top-10 finish, with a two-day 159. Ella Chiu also ended in a tie for eighth place with a 158.
CMS will be back in action on Friday, March 3 when it hosts a dual with Calvin at 11:45 at Via Verde Country Club.
