Women’s Golf: 2016 SCIAC Championships Preview

BEAUMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team tees off at the 2016 SCIAC Golf Championships on Sunday, April 24 at Oak Valley Golf Course. The three-round event runs from April 24-26. CMS sits in third place in the conference standings heading into the SCIAC Championships, but only ten strokes separate the Athenas from the leader going into the final three rounds of the conference season. The Athenas are going after the program's fourth conference championship and first since 2014.

Last season CMS finished second to Redlands at the SCIAC Championships and in the overall conference standings.

Sophomore Margaret Loncki (CMC), freshman Kelly Ransom (CMC), freshman Mary Bryan Owen (CMC), sophomore Maya Bhat (CMC), sophomore Cara Brinster (CMC) and junior Taylor Kain-Godoy (CMC) are the six Athenas competing at the SCIAC Championships. Loncki was the individual medalist at the SCIAC Championships in 2015.
