Bio

After working closely with Chanel Murchison on the basketball staff at John Carroll University for two years, Sherrie Session rejoined Murchison as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball team and enters her second season with the program in 2020-21. 

In addition to her coaching experience, Session has continued her playing career professionally since graduation from the University of Rhode Island in 2013. She currently plays for the Woodville Warriors of the Premier League in Australia, while also serving as their Division 2 U16 girls coach and the club's welfare officer. She has also played for Pully Basket in the Division I professional league in Switzerland from 2013-14, and competed in the Liga Mediterranean Cup in France in 2018. 

Session spent three years as an assistant coach at John Carroll from 2015-18, where she overlapped with Murchison for the first two years. While at John Carroll, she was given recruiting responsibilities and served as the offensive and player development coach, while also handling the program's administrative management needs. 

Prior to working at John Carroll, Session also served as an assistant coach at Hope International University in Southern California, helping the program to a GSAC title. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she also served as a team mentor and as the program's strength and conditioning coordinator.

Session was a four-year player and served as a team captain for the women's basketball team at the University of Rhode Island, starting every game for the Rams as a junior and senior. She graduated from URI with a degree in mass communication and went on to earn her master's in communication from John Carroll.

Originally a native of Downey, California, Session attended Valley Christian High School, where she earned first-team all-league and All-CIF honors for the basketball team.
