Cindy Nagle is the best female distance runner in CMS history.  During her career at CMS, she was one of the top distance runners in Southern California on any level.  She was an eight-time All-American, four times each in cross country and track.

In cross country, Nagle dominated SCIAC and West Region competition.  She never lost a SCIAC race and recorded four straight individual SCIAC Championships and SCIAC Runner of the Year honors.  She won three West Region titles and finished second once.  She competed at the NCAA Championships four straight years and finished second, seventh, third and seventh.  She is one of only two women in NCAA Division III history with four top 10 finishes and she was selected to the Division III Cross Country All-Century Team in 1999.  Nagle led the first CMS women's team to compete at an NCAA Championship when the Athenas placed seventh in 1984.  She was the cross country team captain in 1983 and 1984.

In track, Nagle won four SCIAC titles (1500: 82, 84; 3000: 82; 5000: 84) and earned NCAA All-American honors four times finishing second three times and third once.  She dominated SCIAC competition in track as well and upon graduation held four CMS and SCIAC records.  Her personal bests were 4:32.10 (1500 meters), 9:53.10 (3000), 16:38.10 (5000) and 35:33.0 (10000) and the 5000 and 10,000 times are still CMS and SCIAC records.
