Jeana West Kawamura

Jeana West was the first female SCIAC Champion in any sport at CMS.  She won the mile at the 1979 SCIAC Track & Field Championships with a time of 5:21.67.  Also a member of the CMS Cross Country/Track & Field Hall of Fame, she was a part of three school record relays upon graduation including the 4 x 400 (4:19.1), 4 x 800 (10:32.2) and Sprint Medley (2:01.9).  In cross country, West was earned First Team All-SCIAC honors in 1978, 1979 and 1980 and was a member of the first two SCIAC Championships teams at CMS in any sport (1978 and 1980).  She served as team captain of the 1980 cross country team.
