CMS Softball Drops Series Opener at Redlands

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team fell 6-2 at Redlands in the first game of a three-game series with the Bulldogs on Friday afternoon.

The loss pulls the two teams even in the SCIAC standings at 11-5, heading into tomorrow's doubleheader at CMS. 

Jacqueline Solomon was 2-for-2 with an RBI for CMS in the loss, plating a run in the sixth with an RBI double to cut the Redlands lead to 4-1. Abby Thompson led off the inning with a single, and pinch-runner Megan Kho came around to score. 

Sarah Loper led off the seventh with a single, and pinch runner Kristin LeBlanc came home on an error, but the Athenas weren't able to come closer, leaving runners on second and third to end the game. 

Tomorrow's doubleheader with Redlands will get underway at 11 a.m.
