Gurr earns NFCA All-American honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sophomore pitcher Anna Gurr (CMC) earned All-American Third Team honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) at the banquet in Salem, Va. on the evening of May 25. Gurr is the third athlete from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball program to receive this award.

Gurr was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (SCIAC) Pitcher of the Year in addition to earning a spot on the Spokane Regional All-Tournament team on May 15. Gurr led CMS from the circle and posted a 1.37 ERA over 189 innings pitched during the season. Twenty three of the team's 37 wins went on Gurr's record with 11 of those as shutout victories. She was also known for coming back into games and earned four saves during the year. Defensively, CMS led the SCIAC only allowing 1.57 runs per game in conference games and 1.96 overall.
