Robinson on watch list for Schutt Sports/NFCA DIII Player of the Year
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Tara Robinson (CMC) has been chosen to be in the mix for the inaugural Schutt Sports/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III National Player of the Year. The list begins with 50 players and will be pared down in the subsequent weeks until just one player remains at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
Robinson is one of 24 seniors in the group and the only player from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC).
The Athenas head to the NFCA's Leadoff Classic this week to face at least two current top-25 teams. In pool play, CMS matches up with Kean and Birmingham Southern on Friday, March 11 and then Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. The results of the pool play games will determine the seeding for the bracket play, beginning on Saturday, March 12. Check the softball schedule page for more details.
