CMS Men's Cross Country Places Four on USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's cross country team had four members earn All-Academic Athlete honors from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced this week.

Miles Christensen, Henry Pick, Adam Sage and Nick Taubenheim earned the distinction for carrying at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average and placing in the top 25 percent of the NCAA Regional. Pick came in second place at the West Regional in Spokane, while Sage was sixth, Christensen eighth and Taubenheim was 33rd (out of 160 runners), with each earning All-Region honors for their efforts. 

CMS finished second at the NCAA West Regionals and captured its 14th straight team qualificiation to nationals, where the Stags came in 15th place. Christensen competed at nationals for the fourth time in his career, Pick his third, while Sage and Taubenheim made the trip for the first time. 

In addition to the four All-Academic Athletes, CMS also earned All-Academic Team distinction for carrying a 3.64 team GPA, easily passing the minimum 3.1 threshhold.
