Bio

Charlie comes from the small northern California town of Davis, and he plans to spend this year continuing to talk about why his hometown is the bee’s knees despite the objections of his teammates who hail from lame locations like Ohio, Maryland, and the Pacific Northwest. His 8k cross country PR is 26:13 and on the track he just recently discovered the wonders of the 10k. This season he is looking forward to finishing his interscholastic cross country career, and negative splitting a cross country race for the first time ever.

You can catch Charlie cruising around CMC on his Razor A6 adult commuter scooter. As founder of the 5c Scooter League, Charlie enjoys spreading the gospel of the scooter to the longboard and skateboard heathens of the Claremont Colleges. It's a commonly known fact that scooters are faster, easier to maneuver, and more stylish than boards of every variety.

Charlie credits much of his success in both life and athletics to the Pit. He is well traveled and has visited famous pits like the Grand Canyon and the Berkeley Pit. However, none have matched the grandeur of the Great Pit of Claremont/Upland. That’s why it is all the more tragic that the CMC administration is looking to destroy the natural habitat of the Pit, and replace it with development. The Save the Pit movement started with the Stags Cross Country team last year, but it has quickly spread across America. Charlie hopes to spend his senior year continuing to spread the good word about the pit and pressure the administration to back down from its plan to destroy this natural wonder.
