John Goldhammer retired as the head track & field coach after the 2010 season, but continues to work with the program as an assistant coach overseeing the entire distance program. As head coach, his teams combined to win 30 SCIAC titles. At the national level he has coached 68 athletes who have achieved 107 All-American titles including eight National Champions. Goldhammer remains the CMS head cross country coach and also works with the discus and hammer throwers, while continuing to compete in those events.
Prior to CMS he coached at UC Santa Barbara, Santa Barbara City College and Cal State Los Angeles. He and his wife Toni live in Claremont. Their older daughter, Ami, is a graduate of Long Beach State and their younger daughter, Elizabeth, is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz.
