Ten Stags Earn Outdoor Track and Field All-Region Honors
CLAREMONT, Calif. - Ten members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors for their performances during the 2023-24 season.
Adam Sage was named All-Region in two events, taking it in both the 5000 meters and the 10000 meters, while nine other Stags earned it in one event apiece.
The five CMS student-athletes who earned bids to the NCAA Division III Championships were also bestowed with USTFCCCA All-Region distinction, as Sarath Kakani (shot put), Hayden Beauchemin (steeplechase), Ellis DelVecchio (800 meters), Mason Ratkovich (1500 meters) and Colin Scanlon (400-meter hurdles) will all head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this weekend to try to add All-America honors to their list of accolades.
CMS also had five different throwers win awards. Ian Osborne joined Kakani in taking All-Region honors in the shot put, while Kavin Prasanna, Kaden Cassidy and Jason Bowman each earned All-Region in the discus.
The NCAA Division III Championships get underway on Thursday and will continue through Saturday. DelVecchio will be making a return visit after finishing second with the 4x400 relay team last year.
