Stags Land Six on All-SCIAC Squad

LAGUNA NIGEL, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team landed six athletes on the All-SCIAC teams announced by the SCIAC on Wednesday. Michael Sill (CMC) earned the lone CMS First Team selection after winning the discus throw at the 2018 SCIAC Championships with a toss of 44.12m (144'9").

Sill also earned an all-confernece nod for his performance in the hammer throw where he finished third behind Reese Peterson (HMC), hitting a mark of 46.92m (153'11"). Peterson was named All-SCIAC in both the shot put (13.79m, 45'3"), and the hammer throw (48.26m, 158'4").

Maxwell Knowles (CMC) rounded out the Stags' field athletes to be named All-SCIAC. The sophomore took second in the javelin throw at the SCIAC Championships with a mark of 54.43m (178'7").

On the track, Ben Iten (HMC) and Wilson Ives (HMC) each earned All-SCIAC recognition for their performances in the 1500 meter run. Iten finished second in the group with a time of 3:57.32, and Ives was just behind him in third at 3:58.37.

Corbin Bethurem (CMC) was named Third Team after taking third in the 100 meter dash. The junior sprinted to a time of 10.82.
