Four new members were inducted into the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics Alumni Association Hall of Fame at the 2018 Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 10. The ceremony was held at Claremont McKenna College's Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum, marking the 28th Hall of Fame induction class at CMS.

A total of 10 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track & field team members were USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals for the 2018 season. In addition to the individual awards, both the Athenas and Stags were All-Academic Teams in 2018 with cumulative GPAs of 3.47 and 3.33, respectively.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics is ranked third in the 2017-18 Division III Learfield Directors’ Cup standings, the program’s highest finish ever. This is the second-straight year that CMS has finished in the top-5 in the country.

D'Anieri Finishes 13th in Steeplechase National Final

After a strong start in the 3000 meter steeplechase prelims, Thomas D’Anieri (CMC) came up short in the finals of the event. The sophomore finished 13th in the nation with a time of 9:40.83.

Stags Send Thomas D'Anieri to National Championships

Thomas D’Anieri (CMC) will represent Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s track and field at the 2018 NCAA DIII Track and Field National Championships in La Crosse Wis. The sophomore will run in the 3000 meter steeplechase for the Stags.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field is heading to La Crosse, Wis. For the 2018 NCAA DIII Track and Field National Championships. The No. 2 Athenas are well represented, sending seven different athletes to compete in seven events. The lone Stag headed to Wisconsin is Thomas D’Anieri (CMC) who will compete in the 3000 meter steeplechase. Competition begins Thursday, May 24, and more information will be available on cmsathletics.org later this week.

Schulz and McDonald Set New Personal Records at Redlands Final Qualifier

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team took part in the Redlands Final Qualifier on May 16 and 17, and saw two Stags set new personal records in their respective events. Alex McDonald (CMC) saw success in the 400 meter hurdles, as did Connor Schulz (CMC) in the javelin throw.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s track and field team took part in the Oxy Invite hosted by Occidental College on Saturday. The Stags saw action in field events, but the highlight of the day came in the 3000 meter steeplechase when Evan Hassman (HMC) set the seventh fastest time in CMS history in the event at 9:17.18.

CMS Athletics won the SCIAC All-Sports Trophy for the 10th-straight year this season.

For the 10th-straight year and 30th time in program history, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletic Department claimed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Combined All-Sports Trophy. The Athenas earned 94 points this season and won the All-Sports Trophy on the women’s side by a 19-point margin, claiming their eighth-straight and 23rd overall. The Stags finished third in the standings on the men’s side with 65.5 points. Pomona-Pitzer won the men’s All-Sports Trophy.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s track and field team landed six athletes on the All-SCIAC teams announced by the SCIAC on Wednesday. Michael Sill (CMC) earned the lone CMS First Team selection after winning the discus throw at the 2018 SCIAC Championships with a toss of 44.12m (144’9”).

Schulz and Mknelly Compete at Claremont Classic

A week after competeing at the 2018 SCIAC Championships, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field teams were represented at the Claremont Classic Multis, hosted by CMS. Connor Schulz (CMC) and Bailey Mknelly (SC) took part in the two-day event, with Schulz taking fifth in the decathlon (2878 points) and Mknelly taking sixth in the heptathlon (3377 points).

The Stags of the No. 20 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s track and field team finished fourth at the 2018 SCIAC Championships over the weekend after compiling 124 points at the meet. Michael Sill (CMC) took home the lone first-place finish for the Stags, winning the discus with a mark of 44.12m (144’9”) on Friday.

McDonald Highlights Stags' Performances on Friday

The men of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps track and field team saw action at two competitive meets with athletes at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific, and at the Long Beach State Invitational. The Stags faced off against tough Division I and II competition and held their own with three athletes setting new personal records.

Stags Dominate Distance Events

April 14, 2018

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's track and field team picked up two wins on Saturday after winning two of three duals at the SCIAC Multi Dual meet hosted at CMS. The Stags defeated Pomona-Pitzer 90.0-73.0 and Caltech 155.0-5.0, but fell to Redlands 84.50-78.50. The Stags dominated in distance events. Thomas D'Anieri (CMC) won both the 5000 meter (5:23.79) and the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:37.62). The Stags took three of the top four spots in the 3000 meter steeplechase to earn crucial points against Pomona-Pitzer.
