On Court: Member of Horace Mann team that competed in the National High School Team Championships in Newport Beach...also a three time member of the USTA Eastern Zonal championship team...ranked as high as #87 on the national recruiting lists, and top five in the East...as a freshman made impressive debut for the Stags at the ITA West Regionals where he reached the semifinals of the singles (defeating #2 seed Kamel in the quarters)...partnered HMC freshman Brandon Wei in the doubles and lost to eventual champs Gendelman and Liberty-Point in the round of sixteen...ranked #9 singles and #20 doubles (with Wei) in the West at the end of the fall season...played most of the season at #2 singles and #2 doubles (with Wu) after moving up from #3 in both...was 21-9 in singles, including 16-6 in dual matches...qualified for the NCAA Singles tournament, where he lost to eventual finalist Ben Stein from Bates in three sets...had impressive wins over Piskacek (Kenyon), Schwartz (Penn), and Chavetz (Amherst) at the #2 position...finished 20-11 overall in doubles (13-6 with Wu at #2) to finish with the highest combined singles and doubles wins on the team...one of two Stags to earn 1st Team All-SCIAC honors...nominated for West Region ITA Rookie of the Year award...as a sophomore won the ITA West Regional singles title with wins over Pybas (UCSC), Meyer (Pomona-Pitzer), and Giuffrida (Cal Lutheran) in the quarters, semis, and final respectively...went on to win two of three matches at the ITA Small College Nationals, and finish the fall ranked #3 nationally...partnered Wu to reach the finals of the West Regionals and earn a rank of 6th regionally...returned in the spring as the Stags #1 singles player and won his first six dual matches en route to a 20-9 overall mark...earned ITA All-American and 1st Team All-SCIAC honors and was voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates...was named SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the week of March 8, recognizing his 12-1 overall singles record and top ranking in the west at the time...was 11-3 in tie-breaks during the season, including a crucial two tie-break win at Point Loma Nazarene to clinch a late season 5-4 victory...in doubles had his second consecutive 20-win season, going 22-11...played all but one match with Wu...the pair started the spring at #2 and then took over the #1 spot for good on March 26...reached the final of the Ojai Valley Tournament in an all-CMS title match that the pair lost to teammates Eric MacColl and Brandon Wei 6-3, 7-5...finishes 2010 with national rankings of #10 in singles and #17 in doubles, and West Region rankings of #3 in singles and #5 doubles...as a junior reached the singles quarterfinal and doubles final (with Wu) at the ITA West Regionals...his results earned him fall ITA rankings of #20 nationally and #7 in the West in singles and #10 nationally and #3 in the West in doubles...shoulder, ankle and back injuries prevented him from playing in all but ten singles dual matches...went 7-3 in duals and 12-5 overall, playing almost exclusively at #2 singles...had big wins against Putterman of Wash U, Koening of UC Santa Cruz, and Micheli of Williams...after starting the spring at #1 doubles with Wu, returned from an ankle injury to create a successful partnership at #3 with Brockett...the pair were 14-5 and reached the semis of Ojai...finished 19-7 overall in doubles...earned 2nd Team All-SCIAC honors...as a senior was one of five seniors to lead the 2012 Stags...named captain along with teammate Max Mullen at mid-season...played primarily at #2 and #3 singles and #3 and #1 doubles (with Pereverzin, Chien, and Lane)...was 12-8 overall in singles and 21-9 overall in doubles...named 1st Team All-SCIAC for the third time in his CMS career...also voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates for second time in four years...nominated for West Region ITA Senior Player of the Year...closes out an exceptional Stags Tennis career with records of 65-31 in singles and 82-38 in doubles, placing him in the top 20 all-time for career singles wins, and #6 all-time in career doubles wins...Erani and Ronald Wu (CMC '11) rank 10th among all-time CMS doubles teams in winning percentage (.677), and 6th in matches played (62) and matches won (42)...will also be remembered for his strong tournament play, having won the ITA West singles in 2009, the Ojai doubles with Lane in 2012, while reaching the ITA West doubles final with Wu in 2009 and 2010, and the Ojai doubles final with Wu in 2010.
