On Court:4-star recruit on TR.net who has ranked as high as No.84 in his class....three year starter for Torrey Pines HS boys tennis team, helping TPHS win 3 CIF, 2 State, and 1 National title in his three years ...won League and CIF San Diego Section singles title as a senior, and was named 2019 San Diego Section Player of the Year...2019-2020 made his Stags Tennis debut at the ITA West Regionals by defeating Caltech's Kevin Yu in straight sets...lost in second round to teammate and eventual finalist Jack Katzman...played in five different dual matches in the spring, earning a 3-1 record in singles and 2-0 record in doubles...bounced back from a tough three-set loss in his debut singles dual at No. 5 against Pacific (OR) on the Stags' trip to Hawaii in January, then won his next three matches at No. 3 and No. 4 against Ottawa University Arizona, Cal Lutheran, and Whittier...played at the No. 3 doubles position with Williams and Carroll against Hope International and Whittier respectively...completed shortened 2020 season with overall records of 4-2 in singles and 2-2 in doubles....earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for his better than 3.5 GPA during the 2019-2020 academic year...2021-2022 returned to singles action at the ITA West Regionals in October, defeating Redlands' Jack Mattox in the first round before falling to Pomona-Pitzer's Mukund Madabhushi in the round of 16...began the spring playing at singles positions 3-6, winning his first seven duals...after his first loss on March 25, then went on another 8 match winning streak through April 15 where he was the Stags most consistent performer...also partnered Habbestad, Li, Carroll, and Robinson to combine for a perfect 7-0 dual match doubles record at Nos. 2-3...completed 2022 with overall records of 18-4 in singles and 7-0 in doubles...named SCIAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week May 2, for his two singles and two doubles wins against Redlands and San Diego Christian...voted Most Improved Player by his teammates and appointed as 2023 co-captain along with Ian Freer...also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for his work in the classroom...2022-2023...played in nine singles matches and five doubles matches, earning records of 5-4 in singles (at No. 4) and 2-3 in doubles (at Nos. 2 and 3)...completes his Stags Tennis career with overall records of 27-10 in singles and 11-5 in doubles.

Personal: Son of Cindy and Frank Hao...older sister played club tennis at UCLA and is now at Michigan Dental School...father Frank also plays tennis...enjoys photography and going to the beach to play spikeball in his free time...serves as student-athlete liaison to the 5C club and recreational tennis program that meets at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center twice each week during the academic year.
