Courts...as a freshman made impressive debut at ITA West Regionals by reaching the finals of the singles and doubles, before advancing to the ITA Oracle Cup in Surprise, AZ...entered West Regional singles as the #8 seed and defeated teammate and doubles partner Glenn Hull in the quarters in three sets...after knocking out 4th seed Chase Lipscomb of Redlands in the semis, took a one-set lead against Morkovine for the title, but eventually yielded 7-5 in the third set to the senior...he and Hull combined for the first time, advancing to the championship match as an unseeded team before falling to Gordy-Morkovine in straight sets...with Morkovine unable to represent CMS at the Oracle Cup, both Parodi and Parodi-Hull went as representatives of the West Region...won one of three matches in singles and two of three matches in doubles to finish 7th and 3rd respectively in Surprise, AZ...finishes the fall with ITA Rankings of #2 and #8 in the West and Nationally in singles, and #3 and #4 with Hull in the West and Nationally in doubles...despite missing the first three weeks of the spring due to a scooter accident and injuries to his left eye, Parodi returned to have one of the best first year individual  performances in Stags Tennis history...won eight of his first nine duals at the top singles position, losing only to Wesleyan's Steven Chen at the Stag-Hen...dropped only one conference match, which he avenged against Redlands' Chase Lipscomb in the SCIAC team title match...was a last minute replacement for teammate Glenn Hull at the Ojai, then went on to win both the singles title against teammate Morkovine, and then partner Morkovine to win the doubles...becoming the first freshman in CMS history to win the singles and doubles at the Ojai...headed into NCAAs as the undisputed No. 1 player in the West, leading the Stags at No. 1 singles and doubles...won all six of his NCAA team matches, the final two in comebacks against Cuba of Middlebury and Manji of Emory...then advanced to the NCAA singles final by winning four matches, coming up short against Middlebury's Cuba in the title match...played at all three doubles positions with five different partners...finished with overall records of 33-9 in singles and 21-14 in doubles, earning ITA All-American honors in singles and doubles...was awarded SCIAC Newcomer of the Year and Athlete of the Year, the first time both awards have been awarded to the same player in the same year...as a sophomore entered ITA West Regional as No. 2 seed in singles and was upset in first round by Redlands freshman Cameron Krimbill in three sets...won one of two matches in consolation to finish the fall with 1-2 singles record...teamed with Jake Berber in doubles as the seventh seeds, winning five matches to capture West Region title...advanced to the ITA Oracle Cup in Rome, GA where Berber-Parodi were winless in three matches...ends fall campaign with a 5-3 doubles record, ranked No. 8 nationally and No. 2 in West, while earning second consecutive ITA Doubles All-American honors...followed up a luke warm fall season with a red hot spring, confidently asserting himself at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles with Gordy...won his first eight matches at the top singles position, including wins over Trinity, Wash U and Emory at the ITA National Indoors...streak was halted by Bowdoin's Grant Urken in the Stag-Hen Championship match 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-6(2) which would foreshadow a loss to Urken on the same court in the semifianls of the NCAA singles...despite two losses against Lipscomb (Redlands)  and LeDuff (Santa Cruz), Parodi kept a clean slate for the remainder of the regular season and then defended his singles and doubles titles at the Ojai, a first in CMS Stags Tennis program history...was at his very best during NCAA team tournament, when in three matches he yielded a total of 16 games in wins against Santa Cruz (avenging the earlier loss to LeDuff), Trinity, and Chicago...added three more victories in the NCAA singles tournament before bowing out to eventual champion Urken 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the semis...finished as No. 1 D3 singles player in the West and No. 2 Nationally...with Gordy in doubles he was equally impressive, as the duo held down the top spot in the West for most of the spring...despite an unexpected first round loss at NCAAs to Bates' No. 1 team, Parodi and Gordy put together an impressive 24-8 record as a team and finished ranked No. 2 in the West and No. 9 Nationally...Parodi's overall records were 30-6 in singles and 29-11 in doubles...he adds ITA All-American honors in singles and doubles for the second consecutive year, as well as SCIAC Athlete of the Year and 1st Team All-SCIAC...named CMS Atlhlete of the Week for February 12 and March 5 and voted by his teammates as the Stags' Most Valuable Player...as a junior spent fall semester abroad in Sydney, Australia...returned to start season at the No. 1 singles and doubles (with Gordy) positions...started slowly in singles, winning only two of his first five duals, but then lost only three matches between March 15 and the NCAA team championship match on May 22...became the first player ever to win the Ojai D3 singles and doubles titles for three consecutive years...also reached the quarterfinals of NCAA singles, his third time in three years reaching the quarters or better in singles...earned ITA All-America honors in singles and doubles,1st Team All-SCIAC, and SCIAC Athlete of the Year honors for the third straight season...also named the CMS Male Athlete of the Year as best overall athlete...his season records of 24-8 in singles and 24-9 in doubles improve his career win totals to 87 in singles and 74 in doubles, placing among CMS' best of all time after only three seasons...finished the year ranked No. 4 in singles - his third straight top five national year-end rank, and No. 4 with Gordy in doubles...also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for acheiving a 3.5 GPA or better in the classroom...as a senior had his seven match singles win streak stopped by Tufts' Boris Sorkin in the semifinals of the ITA Cup in Rome, GA to complete his best career fall season as a Stag...won the Flight A Singles at the ITA West Regionals without the loss of a set, then also won his first two matches at the ITA Cup in straight sets, finishing the fall as No. 1 in the west and No. 3 nationally...partnered newcomer Ian Freer in doubles at Regionals and reached the quarterfinals, earning a fall regional doubles ranking of No. 9...returned in the spring with the goal of being the best in D3 in singles and doubles...made an early statement on the Stags' January trip to Hawaii where he avenged a sophomore year singles loss to Trinity's Cameron Krimbill and won doubles matches against Pacific and Trinity with partner Ian Freer...came into his own as the nation's best during CMS' run to the championship match at the ITA D3 National Team Indoors where he had singles wins against Hopper, Xu, and Cassone of Case, Chicago, and Emory...also went 2-1 at No. 1 doubles with Freer, losing only to Chicago in a tie-breaker in the semifinal match...completed the shortened 2020 season with records of 15-3 in singles and 12-4 in doubles...was 14-1 against D3 singles opponents, with his only loss at the hands of Tufts' Sorkin in the fall...finished as the No. 1 ranked singles player in D3 for the first time, capping a career with top-five year-end rankings all four years (No. 2 in 2017, No. 3 in 2018, No. 4 in 2019, and No. 1 in 2020)...was a match point away from earning the No. 1 national doubles ranking with Freer, finishing at No. 3 nationally and No. 2 in the West, his third straight top-10 year-end national doubles ranking (No. 9 in 2018, No. 4 in 2019, and No. 3 in 2020)...earned another slew of national, regional and program accolades, including ITA National and West Region Senior Player of the Year, ITA Scholar-Athlete (for his better than 3.5 GPA for the second straight academic year),CMS Male Athlete of the Year (for the 2nd consecutive year), and CMC Senior Male Athlete of the Year...also Stags' Most Valuable Player for ITA National Player of the Week honors for February 25...completes a Hall of Fame career with overall records of 105-26 in singles and 86-38 in doubles...his singles marks place him at 5th in matches played (131), 4th in matches won (105), and 8th in career winning percentage (.802)...he is only one of five Stags to have one over 100 career singles matches, and one of eight to have won 80 percent of career singles matches...somewhat overlooked at how great a doubles player he was, Parodi partnered five different players (Hull, Berber, Morkovine, Gordy, and Freer) to next level success...his 86 career doubles wins are good for 11th best in CMS history, and include three Ojai titles (one with Morkovine, two with Gordy), one ITA West Regional title (with Berber), and four ITA All-American doubles honors, making Parodi only the third Stag ever to earn ITA All-American honors in singles and doubles all four years...his combined singles and doubles career records of 191-64 places him 7th in matches played and matches won, and ninth in winning percentage at .749...the Stag captain will be remembered for his ability to raise his level in every big match he played for CMS (having gone 12-1 in NCAA Championship dual singles matches in his career), as well as avenging nearly every one of the few losses he had at the D3 level.
