Stags to take on Santa Cruz in NCAA opener
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA released its field of 43 teams for the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championships on May 4 and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s team is hosting one of the Regionals, beginning on Friday, May 8 at Claremont McKenna College’s Biszantz Family Tennis Center.
CMS’ first match of the NCAAs is against UC Santa Cruz in the second round on May 8 at 2 p.m. CMS received a first round bye. Should CMS advance, they would take on the winner of the Pomona-Pitzer vs. Texas-Tyler match in the third round. The third round is scheduled to be played in Claremont on Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m.
CMS received an automatic bid to the D-III Championships by winning the SCIAC Championships which were held May 1-2 in Pasadena. The Stags have now won 10-straight conference championships.
