Four Stags ITA All-Americans; team ends year at No. 1

Skillman, N.J. – Having won the 2015 national title in May, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s tennis team ends the season ranked No. 1 in the final Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III National Team Rankings, which were recently released. In addition to the final rankings which were released, the Stags landed four players on the 2015 All-America Team.

The national championship winning doubles team of seniors Joe Dorn (CMC) and Warren Wood (CMC) were selected as All-Americans in doubles. Wood also was selected as a singles player after winning the singles national championship. Junior Skyler Butts (CMC) and sophomore Glenn Hull (CMC) also landed on the All-America Team for their play in singles. Hull came up with the match point at No. 6 singles in the team’s national championship win over Middlebury, while Butts was the national runner-up at the NCAA Championships in singles.

As a team, the Stags went 32-2 in 2015 (a program-best record) and did not lose all season long to a Division III opponent, on their way to winning the program and the athletic department’s first NCAA Division III national title since 1981.
