Stags Win 11th Straight Against #10 Concordia

CMS Stags Tennis won its eleventh match in a row on Friday, beating the 10th ranked team in NAIA, Concordia, by an 8-1 margin. Sophomores Joe Dorn (Washington D.C.) and Nikolas Marino (San Diego, CA) won in both singles and doubles as the Stags moved to 22-3 overall.

Marino won his team leading 20th singles match at the #3 position, after he and partner Alex Lane (Sr. - Claremont, CA) were easy 8-2 winners at #3 doubles. Dorn won his 16th at #2 singles, after he Warren Wood (So. - Del Mar, CA) got their 23rd victory at #1 doubles. Lane and freshman Skyler Butts (Santa Ana, CA) were also two match winners on the day. Lane was an easy straight set winner at #4 singles, while Butts yielded only a single game at #5 singles. Butts and junior captain Neel Kotrappa (La Verne, CA) completed the Stags' fourteenth doubles sweep of the season with their win at #2.

CMS wraps up non-conference play on Sunday against West Region rival UC Santa Cruz, ranked #10 nationally in Division III. Match time at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center is 11:00 AM.
