Stags Advance to Conference Championship

CMS' Russell Brockett (Jr. - Austin, TX [pictured right]) was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at #3 singles to lead the Stags to an 8-1 win at Pomona-Pitzer on Friday. CMS advances to the SCIAC tournament title match for the fifth consecutive year and will play fifth ranked Cal Lutheran at the Upland Tennis Club on Saturday.

CMS completed their second doubles sweep of Pomona-Pitzer in two weeks. However, after the doubles, starters Robbie Erani (So. - New York, NY) and Ronald Wu (Jr. - Los Altos, CA) were forced to withdraw from the singles lineup due to ongoing injuries. Seniors Mikey Lim (Honolulu, HI) and Eric MacColl (Greenbrae, CA) moved up to the #1 and #2 positions and stayed perfect in league singles play. Lim was a three-set winner at #1 against the West's 5th ranked singles player Tommy Meyer, while MacColl won in straight sets at #2.

CMS will play for its fifth consecutive outright league championship on Saturday when they take on Cal Lutheran.
