CMS Gets Wins over #7 Trinity and MSU - Billings
CMS Men's Tennis moved to 16-3 on the season with wins over #7 ranked Trinity University and Div II foe Montana State University - Billings. The Stags got off to a good start by winning all three doubles matches against Trinity. Sophomores Guillaume Schils (Shaker Heights, OH) and Lawrence Wang (Orange, CA) returned to the #1 spot and won by an 8-2 margin, while Jack DePaolo (SR - Asheville, NC) and Mikey Lim (FR - Honolulu, HI) won by an 8-1 margin at #3, and William Ellison (SR - Shaker Heights, OH) and Evan Feldhausen (SR - Tucson, AZ) were 8-6 winners at #2. In the singles, Wang continued his dominant play with a comfortable 6-2, 6-1 win at #1 against the seventh ranked player in the west region, Oliver Gaines. At #2, Ellison earned his second consecutive straight set victory. The Stags were pushed at positions #3 - #6, dropping two of three decisive match tie-breaks. Against MSU - Billings, the Stags again swept the doubles and took four of the six singles to earn a 7-1 win. CMS was led by four players who earned two victories each: freshman Thomas Keiffer (La Jolla, CA), playing #2 singles and #2 doubles, Kirthi Narasimhan (JR - Sugar Land, TX), playing #3 singles and #1 doubles, Spencer MacColl (FR - Greenbrae, CA) , playing #5 singles and #2 doubles, and Ryan Berber (SO - Austin, TX), playing #6 singles and #3 doubles.
